How these roles are selected

Every role is classified from the full job description, not from its title. German employers routinely advertise a German-language role under an English title, so the title alone is never used to decide the language of a posting.

Roles that ask for German-language ability — fluency, a stated level such as B2 or C1, or any equivalent wording in English or German — are excluded from this page. Roles where German is only described as a plus are kept and labelled "German a plus".

Language detection can miss. A description may switch language partway through, or bury a German requirement in wording we do not recognise, so read each posting before applying.

Placement in Germany comes from the employer's own location text on the posting, nothing is inferred from where a company is headquartered, and each company's careers page is read about once an hour.
